Introduction

The Municipality of Jablanica is a local self-government unit in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It covers the town of Jablanica and surrounding local communities along the Neretva River. The municipal administration is responsible for public services, spatial planning, communal affairs and local economic development. Through strategic planning, implementation of development policies and active engagement with citizens and stakeholders, the Municipality supports sustainable growth, preserves local identity and works to improve the quality of life for residents while strengthening the area’s attractiveness for visitors.

Thematic relevance

The Municipality of Jablanica is actively involved in heritage preservation, community development and support for locally rooted economic activities. Through development strategies, cultural programmes and cooperation with local institutions and producers, it supports traditional crafts, local products and heritage-based initiatives. The Municipality has also participated as a partner in EU-funded cross-border projects focused on the digital modernisation of museums and cultural-historical sites. Its engagement in tourism development, promotion of natural and cultural assets, and support to entrepreneurship improves the visibility and market potential of local heritage values and strengthens sustainable, community-based growth.
