Pascu Elena
Introduction
Elena Pascu is a traditional weaver from Mălâncrav, Laslea commune, Sibiu County who has been practicing loom weaving since the age of eight. Wearing the folk costume, she continues with dedication a craft passed down through generations. Using a portable loom built by her husband, she makes demonstrations of weaving, passing down weaving knowledge to the new generations.
Thematic relevance
Elena Pascu weaves with wool and cotton, using time-honored techniques and traditional patterns. Through her craft, she transforms natural fibers into garments, household textiles, bags, and other functional items, preserving the authenticity and beauty of Romanian textile heritage while giving it a contemporary relevance.
