Introduction

The Regional Museum in Mikulov is the South Moravian Region-funded organization. The museum is located in the castle in Mikulov and its main task is the collection, preservation and presentation of evidence of the development of nature and human society in the Břeclav region.

Thematic relevance

Mikulov Regional Museum welcomes visitors to explore the rich cultural, historical and everyday heritage of Mikulov and the wider Southern Moravia region. Through permanent and temporary exhibitions in several locations (Mikulov Chateau, Mikulov Sinagogue, Archeopark in Pavlov, Pálava House of Nature in Dolní Věstonice and the Memorial of Brothers Mrštík) the Museum offers insight into archaeology, history, ethnology and local ways of life. Visitors can discover authentic artefacts, stories and traditions presented in an accessible and engaging way. The Museum regularly organises guided tours, educational programmes, lectures and cultural events for all ages.
