Introduction
The Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Environmental Protection of Herzegovina – Neretva Canton performs administrative and other professional tasks related to trade, creation and implementation of tourism policy, environmental protection and nature protection in the Canton.
It has the following organisational units: # Trade; Tourism and Hospitality; Nature and Environmental Protection; Inspectorate. The mission of the Ministry is to create preconditions for the development of a complete and high-quality tourist offer through effective care for the protection and preservation of all environmental components and with the active participation of all stakeholders with the goal of sustainable development of the Canton. The Tourism and Hospitality Sector performs administrative, normative, professional and administrative tasks related to drafting and proposing policy regulations, measures for its implementation and development.
Thematic relevance
The Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Environmental Protection of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton is thematically relevant through its mandate to develop tourism, support trade and ensure the sustainable use of natural and cultural resources. In the context of cultural heritage, the Ministry focuses on linking heritage and craftsmanship with sustainable tourism and local development. It supports initiatives that preserve authenticity, enhance the visibility of local products and create added value for communities and visitors. Acting as a coordinating public authority, the Ministry aligns tourism, trade and heritage policies to support the practical use of traditional crafts as drivers of local development and cultural continuity.
