Introduction
Volčji Potok Arboretum is a cultural monument of national significance and one of the most important historical parks in Slovenia. With its long-standing horticultural practice, extensive plant collection, and expert knowledge, it serves as a key center for the preservation and development of horticultural and landscape heritage. The arboretum functions as a space for knowledge exchange, education, experiential programs, and the integration of craftsmanship, natural and cultural heritage, and tourism.
Thematic relevance
Volčji Potok Arboretum actively contributes to the preservation of horticultural natural and cultural heritage through professional work, knowledge transfer, education, workshops, and public and professional events. Special emphasis is placed on traditional knowledge, contemporary interpretations of horticulture, and the sustainable use of the site.
