Introduction

The Tourist Board of the City of Mostar is the official destination management organisation founded in January 2024 to promote and develop the City of Mostar and the wider Herzegovina-Neretva Canton as a sustainable tourism destination. It coordinates tourism development in line with public policies, supports local tourism stakeholders, enhances visitor information and services, and promotes the area’s cultural and natural heritage. By facilitating partnerships, events, marketing activities and capacity building, the Board contributes to economic growth, increased destination visibility and a high-quality, meaningful visitor experience at both local and regional levels.

Thematic relevance

The Tourist Board of the City of Mostar is thematically relevant through its public mandate to plan, coordinate and promote sustainable tourism development based on cultural and natural heritage. By supporting tourism stakeholders, enhancing visitor services and promoting heritage-based attractions, it strengthens the recognition and economic valorisation of local assets. Through destination marketing, digital promotion and partnership building, the Board improves visibility, market access and the quality of tourism experiences. Its engagement in innovation and e-tourism solutions contributes to sustainable economic growth, social cohesion and long-term heritage preservation at local and regional level.
