Introduction

The Tourist Board of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton is a dedicated organization promoting tourism and preserving the region’s rich cultural heritage. Established in 2002 in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Board connects and empowers local tourism actors to enhance prestige and gain international recognition. It supports local artisans and heritage products through exhibitions, fairs, craft markets, and partnerships with hotels, restaurants, and other tourism stakeholders. The Board also facilitates online presence and marketing, helping local actors reach wider audiences, expand market opportunities, and strengthen the region’s cultural and economic profile.

Thematic relevance

Within Commheritour project, the Tourist Board focuses on valorizing the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton’s cultural and artisanal heritage to boost tourism and local economic development. Activities include supporting local artisans in creating sustainable products, integrating them into tourism services, and promoting them through exhibitions, fairs, and online platforms. The Board’s experience in transnational initiatives, such as the EXChAngE project and the Blue Pass cross-border tourism product, ensures strong collaboration with regional and international partners. By combining heritage preservation with tourism promotion, the project enhances visitor experiences, strengthens local branding, and fosters sustainable economic growth in the region.
