For visitors

The community around the museum, is a folk group that make demonstrations of traditional crafts, including wool processing. They also organize events to bring forward traditional crafts and heritage knowledge, including singing and dancing. The museum’s heritage comprises approximately 1.500 artifacts dating from the 18th to the 20th centuries, including ceramics, traditional costumes, textiles, sheepskin coats, wool garments, painted furniture, household and agricultural objects, iron tools, icons, pain tings, as well as old books and documents. Through their value and diversity, these exhibits led UNESCO’s leadership to describe the museum as “a jewel representative of the Romanian people’s effort to preserve their cultural values.”
